Homeschooling: Sowing and Reaping

“You get out of it what you put into it”: This adage can be applied to mostly every aspect of life, and it can also be applied to homeschooling.

Most parent-educators, at some time or another, will wonder: Is my child learning enough? Will homeschooling prepare my child for a successful future?

While these questions can render various answers, the bottom line is quite simple: Homeschooling is about sowing and reaping. More sowing means less worrying.

The time put in – researching, planning, teaching, praying, seeking guidance, guiding our children in the ways of the Lord, etc. – represents seeds being sown. And this sowing is our assurance that, one day, every seed that has been planted will yield God-fearing, academically-sound and competent adults.

Scripture of the Week:

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. – 2 Corinthians 9:6

Dear God, I thank you in advance for a bountiful harvest, in Christ Jesus’ name, Amen.
