Exposing Our Weaknesses

devotionWe all have weaknesses, especially when it comes to homeschooling. No one is 100% proficient in every school subject, some of us find it difficult to keep lessons organized, many of us fall short of completing everyday tasks, and the list goes on.

Reflection of the Week

It’s human nature to want to appear strong and flawless in the eyes of others. After all, you wouldn’t want to look like a weakling when you’re in charge of one of the most important aspects of your children’s lives – their education.

But trying your best to appear strong only makes you weaker. Covering or hiding weaknesses keeps you from seeking and receiving help from others; but most importantly, it keeps you from seeking and receiving help from God – the true source of strength.

Our weaknesses are what makes us strong in Christ. When we go to God in prayer with our weaknesses exposed, His sufficient grace and perfect power will rest upon us.

Scripture of the Week

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Dear God, I thank you for giving me strength when I am weak, in Christ Jesus’ name, Amen.
